Western & Southern Open seeks talented kids to sing National Anthem
CINCINNATI, OH(May 29, 2012) – Again this year the Western & Southern Open, the nation’s oldest professional tennis tournament still played in its original city, will hold its annual Casting Call presented by Skyline Chili to audition youngsters 7 to 17 years old to sing the National Anthem at the world-class tennis event this summer.
This year youngsters will go through two rounds to audition to sing at the Western & Southern Open Tournament, to be held August 11-19 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. First, audition videos may be uploaded to the official Casting Call Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/singcincinnati) by June 15. Videos can be of any song, must be at least 30 seconds long in a cappella format and cannot contain profane or offensive lyrics.
Judges will review the submissions and will select a limited number of performers to sing live on Fountain Square from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 29 in front of a panel of celebrity judges. The finalists must sing the song they submitted on their Facebook video. Official rules and documents for the Fountain Square event are at

"We have discovered some amazing talent the last few years for the Western & Southern Open," said Will Sikes, director of marketing and communications for the tournament. "I’m sure this year will be no different. The judges will have a difficult time choosing the best performers."
Families and friends of those trying out are welcome to attend the Fountain Square event. Tennis courts will be set up, with other activities, giveaways and opportunities to purchase tickets to the Western & Southern Open.
