Roger Federer won a record sixth Western & Southern Open title Sunday, with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 victory over David Ferrer.

The No.2 seed broke the Spaniard once in the first set, putting 90% of his returns back in play, and saved four breaks of his own to capture the first set in 30 minutes.

In the first game of the second set, which lasted nearly 12 minutes, Ferrer fought off four break points for the hold. He then broke Federer twice en route to winning the set 6-1 and forcing a decider.

Federer kicked off the third set with an early break to take a 4-1 lead. The former World No.1 got his third break at 5-2 to clinch the victory and record his 37^th match win in Cincinnati.

Today’s W&S Open win gives the Swiss his 22^nd ATP World Tour Masters 1000 crown and an 80^th tour-level title overall.

“I'm very happy about the week,” Federer said. “Just overall it went from good to great. Just really pleased that I was able to back up a tough week last week.”

In the men’s doubles final, Bob and Mike Bryan got revenge against their Wimbledon final conquerors, Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock. The twin tandem defeated the young guns 6-3, 6-2 for their fifth Cincy title together, and 99^th ATP title overall.

“It was obviously fun to play those guys again,” Mike Bryan said of Pospisil/Sock. “Wimbledon was such a great match going down to the wire 7-5 in the fifth. We weren't look at it as a revenge thing. Just another shot to win a title here in Cincinnati against a great team, against a really hot team.”
