Finals Sunday at the W&S Open

It’s another sold out finals so come early and enjoy our final day of play here at the Western & Southern Open!
The Morning Line
Sunday, August 18
Good morning for the final time here from the Lindner Family Tennis Center! We are looking forward to some epic final action here today. Men’s start at 12:30 p.m. so again, come early to get a great parking spot and enjoy the music and food before the match.
First, let’s talk about the day’s opening matchup, featuring unseeded and top American John Isner and fourth seed Rafael Nadal. Both players are in the final here at the Western & Southern Open for the first time, and Nadal is looking to become the first Spaniard to win the title here since Carlos Moya did it in 2002.
Nadal and Isner have met three times before today—Nadal has won all three times. Nadal is also in his 37th career ATP Masters 1000 final, where he’s 25-11.
For his part, Isner had a tough road to get to this final—he’s the first player to beat three top 10 opponents in a row here since Juan Carlos Ferrero did it in 2006. It’s his second career Masters 1000 final: He lost to Federer in Indian Wells in his previous final in 2012.
Later on Center Court, the top two women’s seeds face off for the title as top seed Serena Williams faces second seed Victoria Azarenka. Serena advanced in two sets over defending champion Li Na, while Azarenka took three sets to defeat former Western & Southern Open winner Jelena Jankovic.
Azarenka has now reached the final of both of her summer hardcourt season tournaments - she was a runner-up in Carlsbad to Samantha Stosur- but Sunday's final won't be easy though as Williams leads Azarenka in their head-to-head series, 12-2.
Serena already has one trophy from the Western & Southern, though—she clinched the 2013 Emirates Airline US Open Series women’s title with the win over Li Na. She’s the only woman to win the Emirates Airline US Open Series bonus challenge twice—she won it also in 2011.
In the women’s doubles finals on the grandstand court, it’s sixth seeded Anna-Lena Grownefeld and Kveta Peschke against third seed Su-Wei Hsieh and Shuai Peng, and after that it’s the top seeded Bryan brothers  facing Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez.
