Best Bites from Monday

World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty and others spoke to the media Monday. Here are some of the best quotes from the day:

Ashleigh Barty on ranking the experiences in her career...

“For me, the most enjoyable (experiences) are all the funny things and all the memories that make me smile that happened off the court. A lot of the time it's more what comes with the experience. That whole Olympic experience, being able to see a few Aussies I hadn't seen since January, February, was incredible. And obviously to be able to share some of our stories we've had over the last three, four months, being able to talk through them and kind of chat to them about it and just hear some Aussie accents made a massive difference. So I think it was an incredible experience but really, really

hard to compare to everything else I think because it was so unique.”

Stefanos Tsitsipas on the excitement of breaking into the top of the ATP rankings...

“You don't get many exciting moments like this in your career. The very first moment that I got to be part of this and feel that thrill and that energy and that adrenaline out of competition was when I entered the top 10 for the first time in Dubai after reaching the finals of Dubai. You know, I saw it on Monday come out, and it was very -- I felt overwhelmed by it. It was a great feeling.”

Felix Auger-Aliassime on what stands out about playing in Cincinnati...

“The big thing is the fans. It's impressive. You feel like there is a lot of history here. I feel like it's a habit of coming to the tournament from generations to generations, because you see people of all ages. You see a lot of kids, you see teenagers, you see guys and girls my age, and then you see also older people coming with their kids. It's really fun. You feel like it's a family event. Everyone is welcome. There were a lot of people that showed up. For me, I think that's what makes it really special. I think this year I'm able to enjoy it even more than previous years, and it's really good, to be honest. I'm glad I'm here and I won my first round. It's a great tournament.”

Caty McNally on playing in front of her hometown crowd...

“With the rain delay, I wasn't sure how many people were going to stick around and come out and support us. When we walked out there, I literally got the chills just to see so many familiar faces, friends, family, that had been with me from day one. It means so much to me. I'm just so happy that we got the win and we get another opportunity to play in front of them again.”

Coco Gauff on the fan support in Cincinnati...

“The crowd was with us from the first point to the last. It was nice to play in front of a full stadium. This is my first time playing in Cincinnati, and I definitely felt the love here.”
