Around the Grounds: Semifinal Saturday

The Bryan Brothers look to capture another W&S Open Title.

Good morning from the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio! Today is semifinal day with incredible matchups on both the men’s and women’s side. Grandstand action all day today will be doubles matchups, including the top seeded duo of Bob and Mike Bryan at 2 p.m.

Singles on Center Court starts with the former Number 1 Caroline Wozniacki facing the present Number 1, Serena Williams. These two met last week in the quarterfinals in Montreal, with Serena taking that matchup. After that, sixth seed David Ferrer faces unseeded Julien Benneteau, who upset third seed Stan Wawrinka in Friday’s play.

The evening begins on Center Court with Anna Ivanovic and Maria Sharapova for a spot in the finals, then wraps up with five time W&S winner Roger Federer and fifth seed Milos Raonic.

Off the court, the invitation-only Affair at the Open, a Young Professionals party, will be held 5 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person and include access to a hospitality tent and Evening Session ticket.

At the Dayton International Airport music stage in the Food Court, you’ll be able to hear Crick Gypsies from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; The Sunburners, 5-7 p.m. and The Carolines, 7:15-9:15 p.m. And our celebrity chef in the Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wine Garden tonight will be Jean-Robert de Cavel from Jean-Robert’s Table, just before the evening session.
