Around the Grounds: Day 6

USTA Members enjoy USTA Appreciation Day
USTA Members enjoy their hospitality tent today from 11 AM to 2 PM

Good morning from the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, where it is expected to be another record day at the Western & Southern Open. Two attendance records were set on Wednesday, an all time record session attendance of 14,336 and a record day of attendance of 25,686. Today’s day session is already sold out, including grounds passes, so make sure you get to the tennis center early!

Today’s day session features a Center Court lineup that kicks off with Stan Wawrinka against Marin Cilic, followed by women’s top seed Serena Williams facing Flavia Pennetta and later in the afternoon, men’s top seed Novak Djokovic against Tommy Robredo.

The Grandstand lineup is just as powerful, with Andy Murray and John Isner facing off, followed by former W&S champion Maria Sharapova. And afternoon action on Court 3 will feature Svetlana Kuznetsova, the upset winner over Eugenia Bouchard last night, facing Ana Invanovic. Night matches see Roger Federer, Caroline Wozniacki and the Bryan Brothers all taking the court. Tickets are still available for the Thursday night session.

Off the court, it’s USTA Member Appreciation Day on the grounds, as USTA members are invited to enjoy the afternoon in a reserved hospitality tent, take photos with the trophy, and experience an afternoon of world class tennis.

Music on the Dayton International Airport stage in the food court features Marmalade Brigade from noon until 2 p.m.; the Greg Schaber Duo from 5-7 p.m. and Lagniappe, starting at 8:45 p.m.  And our featured chef this evening at the Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wine Garden is Amy Tobin from New RIFF. So join us for a great day of tennis, and more, at the Western & Southern Open!
