2014 Western & Southern Open Kicks Off

Kick off your weekend at the Lindner Family Tennis Center as we open the gates for the 2014 tournament on Saturday.

 

With play at the Western & Southern Open beginning, more than 70 players will take the court in the hopes of advancing through the two round qualifying tournament.

 

On the men’s side, play is highlighted by Wimbledon quarterfinalist Nick Kyrgios, Aussie young gun Bernard Tomic, three Ohio State alumni., including 2013 NCAA champion Blaz Rola, his 2012 NCAA doubles champion partner Chase Buchanan, and Devin McCarthy, who was born and raised in Cincinnati.

 

On the women’s side, seven American hopefuls will battle for the final 12 spots remaining in the main draw, including Cincinnati-native and two-time NCAA champion Nicole Gibbs, former World No.1 junior Taylor Townsend, and up-and-comer Alison Riske.

 

Not only can you catch the qualifying action, but some of your favorite players from around the world will be on court practicing throughout the day.
