Indian Wells, Calif. – When the women’s 3.0 Senior team from the USTA Missouri Valley Section lost in the Oklahoma District Championships in July, the players thought their season was over.

 

That was until they received a wild card into the Missouri Valley Sectionals. Since the team did not have an official name, the players decided to call themselves OKWild to commemorate their Sectional wild card.

 

OKWild, which is based in Tulsa, Okla., shocked the competition at the Missouri Valley Sectionals in August and won four straight matches to become sectional champions.

 

Upon arriving this weekend at the 2010 USTA League 3.0 Senior National Championships at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, OKWild team members wore distinctive temporary tattoos with their team logo.
