Champions Crowned at USTA League 6.0 and 8.0 Super Senior Nationals

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Four teams were crowned champions this afternoon at 6.0 and 8.0 USTA Super Senior League National Championships at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club, as the Southern California Section swept 8.0 play.
 
A Southern California Section team from Lake Forest, Calif., downed a Pacific Northwest squad of Portland, Ore., 3-0 to win the 8.0 women’s championship.  The Northern California Section women of Fresno brought home third place with a 2-1 victory over a Southern Section team from Charlotte, N.C.
 
The 8.0 men’s team from Palm Desert, Calif., defeated a team from Portland, Ore., as well with a 2-1 decision.  A Middle States Section team from Hamilton, N.J., took third place with a 2-1 win over a Florida Section squad from Naples.
 
The 6.0 Southern Section men from Hot Springs Village, Ark., defeated a team from Naples, Fla., 2-1 to capture the title.  In third place action, the Hawaiian team from Honolulu beat a Pacific Northwest Section team from Bellevue, Wash.
 
The 6.0 women from Ormond Beach, Fla., were the fourth and final team to win a championship, as they clinched with a 2-1 victory over the ladies from Cape Cod, Mass.  The Middle States women from Pocono Pines, Pa., wrapped up play with a third place win over the Murfreesboro, Tenn., ladies from the Southern Section in a nail-biting 2-1 match.
