The trend continued in the evening as David Ferrer upset No. 14 Marin Cilic 7-6(4) 6-2. Ferrer is a two-time quarterfinalist in Cincinnati.

Ferrer awaits the winner of Wedneday’s match between Roger Federer and Jose Acasuso.

In the headline match on Center Court, American John Isner earned a 7-6(5) 5-7 7-6(3) victory over Tommy Haas. Isner fired 23 aces in the match.

"I didn't have much energy out there. I didn't feel great," Isner said. "Luckily I served well and I played the big points well. I was really fortunate to get through that.  I'm gonna have to rest up bigtime for tomorrow."

Isner advances to face Jeremy Chardy on Wednesday.
