MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Radek Stepanek rallied from 1-4 down in the first-set tiebreaker and beat American Sam Querrey 7-6 (5), 6-0 on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships.
The Czech double-faulted up 5-4 with a chance to close out Querrey in the first set. Stepanek needed a moment to fix a contact lens before winning six of the final seven points in the tiebreaker. That proved more than enough against Querrey, and Stepanek closed out the second set in just 15 minutes.
Querrey, the 2010 tournament champion, had won his first two matches against Stepanek. But Querrey won only two return points in the second set and couldn't hold serve.
Top-seeded John Isner is playing Austrian Jurgen Melzer, while Milos Raonic of Canada is set to play Belgian Olivier Rochus later Friday.
